From Hobby to 22,000 Patterns Sold: How Cutebroidery Became a Beloved Brand for Cross Stitch Gnome Lovers
Share
Hi! I’m Irina — a 45-year-old mom of two wonderful kids (5 and 7), a former banker with over a decade of experience in finance, and a passionate cross-stitch designer.
I’ve been stitching for more than 20 years. Over time, cross stitch became more than a hobby — it became my way of expressing warmth, joy, and creativity. I love studying the history of embroidery and trying new techniques, and I’ve always admired the cozy, heartwarming designs of artists like Teresа Wentzler and Thérèse de Dillmont.
Why gnomes? Why cuteness?
When I started designing patterns, I found myself naturally drawn to cute and cozy themes. Gnomes, warm kitchens, seasonal magic — they make people smile. That’s the magic I wanted to share: designs that feel like a hug.
How my designs come to life
Each pattern takes about a week to create and is thoughtfully planned out — from composition to color palette. I use about 10 different tools to make sure every design is polished and stitch-friendly.
While I do have two wonderful assistants, I personally communicate with every customer. I love hearing from you, answering questions, and seeing your finished stitches!
The numbers behind Cutebroidery
Since 2020, I’ve created over 720 patterns, received more than 2,682 5-star reviews, and sold over 22,000 cross stitch designs. Every kind message and photo you send truly means the world to me.
My mission
I believe cross stitch is a way to give a piece of your heart. That’s why my goal is to make patterns that are personal, heartfelt, and easy to follow — so that every stitcher can feel proud of what they’ve made.
